The 4th of July Council has made arrangements with Capital Metro to provide six buses for FREE Park and Ride service to and from designated parking areas and Bar K Recreational Park. Due to the rising level of the lake and changes in the enforcement of State fire laws which have affected us for the first time this year there will be little or no parking available at the park. As a result, bus service will begin at the conclusion of the parade on Dawn Drive (approximately at 10:30 am) from the Park and Ride sign in theparking area in front of City Hall and continue until 11:30 pm. Additional bus stops will be at the new Lago Vista High School parking lot on Lohman's Ford and the Lago Vista Middle School parking lot on FM 1431. Refer to the maps found HERE for the parking areas.
The gates at Bar K Recreational Park will be closed promptly at midnight and no further transportation will be provided.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT NO LAWN CHAIRS, COOKING GEAR OR COOLERS CAN BE BROUGHT ON BOARD THE BUSES.
For the first time in our history, Lago Vista will enjoy a FREE CONCERT performed by the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble during the celebration at Bar K Park! Under the baton of Conductor Robert Laguna 70 expert musicians will perform a collection of beautiful and rousing marches and patriotic tunes just prior to the launch of our Fireworks! Bring your flags and wave them as they move us with their unique performance!
For nearly 40 years a group of patriotic citizens of Lago Vista have put forth their efforts to bring a 4th of July celebration to the North Shore of Lake Travis that rivals Austin firework shows. From droughts to floods and other challenges the celebration has continued. In 1993, the Lago Vista 4th of July Council was formed and in 1998 we became an official 501 C-3 non-profit organization. We continue to organize this wonderful event today. We invite you to learn more about the history of our 4th July Celebration and the Lago Vista 4th of July Council, Inc., its members and how we rely on the generosity of our non-profit organizations, business and residents to make sure that every year we are able to join as friends and neighbors and gape in awe at the splendor of our fireworks
