A Personal Testimonial - American Idyl - Lago Style is FUN!
2007

"Hi, just thought I'd let you know how much fun it was to attend the American Idyl-Lago Vista Style contest this past Saturday, June 16 at Remington's.

There were eleven contestants, and they all sang a different song from each other and they all were good, some very good. There were both men and women contestants, and in the run-off, with different songs from their first time, there were two men and three women vying for the two-spot leads. Those were won by Sherry and Tina. Tina is a frequent Karaoke leader and Sherry is quite an entertainer too - she boldly sashays out among the audience intertwining between the tables while strongly singing.

I counted up to sixty patrons Saturday night at Remingtons. Our own Earl Horn (on the microphone announcing who is passing by in the parade) was a contestant and sang not only as one of the original eleven, but also as one of the final five at Remingtons.

I encourage you all to show up for the remaining two contests. I'm not clear as to the locations or times - the LOG advertisements mentioned one on June 22 (that would be Friday) and another on June 23 (that would be Saturday). At Remingtons, the announcement was that one was next Saturday, June 23 and the other the following Saturday, June 30. One would be at The Deli Works and the other at BAMS. But don't go by me - I'm not clear on which one-when, but I sure would like to know. I hope we will get a reminder e-mail about it, or that it will be at LagoVistaJuly4.org. I know you would enjoy the fun of being there, the thrill of being encouraging to the performers and applauding them, and genuinely being entertaned by some really fine talented folks." by Sarah Green
